Pitching Guidelines

We are accepting voluntary pitches for the following:

Current Affairs Analysis- Any politics or economics forward article which focus on topical issues. Whether it’s the reception/consequences of a new policy, something in regards to geopolitics and International relations, a retrospective on political figures and decisions from history, or important analysis on financial markets. Political theory and explainers work well here, especially if your intention is to break down the issue.

Food- Been to any new restaurants lately, or found a hidden gem? If so, and you happen to have thoughts on that, along with well taken images, then restaurant reviews are welcome here. We’re also looking for recipe articles, so long as they are well researched and well tested. listicles are okay here so long as they don’t go overboard. If you want to write essays on food, policy, the hospitality industry, then these are absolutely welcome here. If you want to write about food from your travels, they will go well in this section.

Features- This section is very carefree in a way. Perhaps there’s a hot new topic you want to talk about. Perhaps something you have noticed on the internet is gaining traction. Perhaps it’s opinionated cultural commentary. Or maybe it’s the dissection of media (music, film, TV, pop culture). Or maybe it’s a niche observation which you seem to notice. Retrospective and introspective articles are also welcome.

Word Count:

For Current Affairs it can be around 700-800 words.

For Food, it largely depends on what kind of article it is. Essays can be around 800-1000 words reviews and listicles can be around 600-700 words and recipes would be dependent on the complexity of the dish (tbd).

For Features it can be longer, approximately 900-1100 words.
