“Hi all, I’m Saiba Haque, founder and Editor-in-Chief of Hot Source, and I am very excited for you all to be a part of this publication, whether you’re here as just a reader, or as a contributor.

Lately, job-hunting in the media industry has been tumultuous and at times heartbreaking and pitching to big publications has also proven to be particularly harder than it would have been a few years ago. Many publications are issuing scaling down with redundancies and refusing to re-hire at the mercy of the bottom-line. To say that the recession has been morbidly daunting and existential would be an understatement.

Growing weary of dwindling opportunities, I decided that the middle of an economic crisis is as better a time than any to start a publication of my own (something that I have thought long and hard about).

I created Hot Source with the intention to combine my experience as efforts as a Journalist and Chef, alongside my enthusiasm for politics, current affairs, and talking relentlessly about pop-culture.

So why not stick around and catch up on all the hot topics that people are talking about, straight from the source. It’s about time we re-vamped the recession”
